Telephony
Computer Telephony - refers to the integration of computer systems and phone systems.
Business users of phone systems should be managed from a computer system.
Key features or reasons for using Computer Telephony are:

Ease of use - with a PC interface to program your phone, having to remember sequences of keystrokes are a thing of the past.

Plain Old Telephone (POTs) - with Computer Telephony the need to have those expensive proprietary telephones is gone. You can connect the phone that fits your style or budget, and let the PC take the strain for programming or changes of divert

No Operators Console required - as the Operators Console is software, you don't need to have an expensive central console (which no one really knew how to use). What's more - when things get busy, more staff members can open up the operator console software and become operators to ease the flow of calls.

Automatic call logging and analysis - as the system making the calls is an NT Server, it is a simple method to set up call logging, and then analyse them as required. Microsoft SQL server is used to enable complex queries or recharges as you want them.

Voice mail with shared e-mail inbox - When you log into MS Exchange or MS Outlook, you can now retrieve stored voice mails just as ordinary e-mails. It is even possible to obtain your e-mails when you are not in the office by using any touch tone phone. With this feature, you dial the office, type in your PIN number and then the system reads the header of your e-mail to you, with an option to listen to more, or reply. This also works on ordinary messages text sent to you from anyone (even outside the office).

Call processing features such as - Call forward, Call Hold/retrieve, Call Logs, Call Park, Call Swap, Call transfer, Conference (with up to 12 others), Distinctive Internal/External ringing tones, Find-me features, Fax tone detection, Groups & Hunt Groups, Music on Hold, Night Bell, Paging, Pick-up Groups, Queuing, Do-Not-Disturb, Calling Line ID, Dial by name, Speed calls - All driven by friendly PC menu & button interface in MS Windows.
Auto Attendant - Callers can dial by name or extension using Touch tone pads

Software upgradable - Traditional phone systems are proprietary, which can limit the upgrades or alternatively then are large chunks of hardware & system phones. With all the 'brains' held on an MS Windows NT Server, upgrades and developed add-ons are easily incorporated into the system.
Calls can be linked into PC voicemail or e-mail system and collected from e-mail inboxes. (or written messages can be collected over the phone).

Before you look into selecting your new phone switch, why not call and discuss things with us.
