Desktop Faxing
Sending a document from a PC to a standard fax machine via network or modem
With increased communication needs, and reduced available time, we really should not be
sending faxes at all (although sometimes bits of paper can be useful at times)
When we do have to send faxes, it is important that they are of the highest quality,
whilst costing the absolute minimum in staff time and management overhead.
Users of laptops with Windows 95 have been able to fax from their PC for a long time.
Equipping each of user on a 100 station network with modems and phone lines would be
prohibitive. A network desktop fax system allows users to integrate their e-mail system
with the fax, this means one out-box, and one in-box,and one address book.
All desktop fax solutions should work in harmony with Microsoft's e-mail server program
called Exchange.
