More changes for UK
Phones We are currently in a period of change for the United Kingdom telephone service numbers. ("this is the last" ….they say!) Six new codes will be introduced in the year 2000. We are in a period of 'parallel running' in which both old and new numbers will work. London will change to a unified code 020 Coventry area code changes from (01203) to (024) Northern Ireland will have a single code 028 Cardiff will change to 029 (possible migration to a single All Wales code in future if customers want it) Portsmouth and Southampton to change to 023 code Dates for your diary For more information (mind numbing though it is, visit http://www.oftel.gov.uk/ Changes will affect: Phones, Faxes, Databases of information, computer dial-up systems, intruder alarms and other systems that dial into the public telephone systems.
